Healthpoint is first known user driven health news portal in Germany.

In 2008 Owner of the company took initiative for such health portal. Founder of the site also co-owned a advertisement company therefore they had long experience about local market. There were two main challenges in the project. First the first day they wanted a solid matured platform and site owner needed to configure site in German language.

The project was once planned in Pligg but later because of better reputation Drupal was taken as baseline CMS. Moorank designed user interface base on client's specification and we customized voting system with Drigg, a drupal add-on. We restructured the news content placeholders and streamlined drupal's tagging system as well as contents in sidebar. Site is facilitated by Drupal's caching and in addition to user submitted news it could also pick latest news from other German sites. Moonrank also helped translation of site navigation in German language

Healthpoint.de is a wonderful example how web initiative in native language can benefit local community through social bookmarking.
