TheBuzz.at is a user submitted database of interesting places like Restaurants, Bars, Theaters etc. User can vote on his favorite places - voting means he loved that cafe and would visit there again. Using vote count instead of star based rating let any new visitor instantly decide on top voted places. Its a great place for travelers who need to decide for a good place to eat or a club to enjoy time. Its a intuitive search engine and showing items listed in a map and a tool to discover and share favorite places in couple of click of mouse. The project has a number of challenges that known web solutions could not handle. First of all it required to store venues by locations and it also need to run smoothly with huge amount of data. To cross check user supplied data, especially to minimize spam, we matched locations with already existing information in Google. We used a number of technologies and heavily customized Pligg to match quality required for such projects.
